I've been to two other very highly rated vets in the area and this place is the best!!! First of all, you can get an apptvin a reasonable timeframe. Not months out! Three other vets would not work with my reactive dog and I, after trying a couple meds, said we needed a $600/hr vet behaviorist with multi month waits. Dr Malitsky spent an HOUR listening to my concerns, observing behavior, making recommendations, even did a desensitization session and the meds he needed to succeed. It was so much more than I hoped for. Dr. Hanover amd staff are so amazing! They are super helpful, very kind. They all love your animals and take the time with you to hear all your concerns you have. He has helped my with my Dog Bailey and my Horse Gizmo. He is the best vet I know and we have had other vets before they didn't do a great job like Dr. Hanover does. I recommend to everyone I know. He's super detailed in his work and he doesn't rush through things like other vets do. We love the work you do Dr Hanover. Thank you so much.
I have been a client of the Animal Hospital of Gurnee since 2009. First with my horse and more recently with my two dogs. I have always been very satisfied with the care my animals. The staff is conscientious and caring. To that point I truly believe Dr. John J Hanover saved my German Shorthaired Pointers life. He caught the beginning of Addison’s Disease before she went into crisis and guided us to the care she needed. I’m happy to report that was about 4 years ago and Matilda is doing just fine at 11 years old still under their care. I recommend Animal Hospital of Gurnee for all of your animals needs.
