Lakeshore Golf Course is Taylorville's premier golfing destination, offering a unique and enjoyable experience for both experienced and novice golfers. This 18-hole, par 72 public course is set on 160 acres of beautifully maintained fairways and greens, featuring picturesque views of Lake Taylorville from nearly every hole. The course layout is both challenging and fun, with well-kept greens and fairways that attract many repeat visitors. The staff is very friendly, polite, and helpful, making every visit welcoming. Many golfers drive an hour past other courses just to play here, appreciating the quality and the resort-like feel without high prices. The course is great for outings, with outstanding catering options and a relaxing atmosphere, making it a must-visit for golf enthusiasts. Designed by William J. Spear in 1968, it includes bentgrass greens for a true roll and bluegrass fairways, although some sand traps may need better maintenance. Lakeshore Golf Course continues to impress with its beautiful setting and excellent service.
Me and my friend have a membership that includes 4 courses and we have been playing lakeshore for a bit now it’s beautiful the course has an amazing layout well kept up greens and fairways staff is very friendly and super helpful and has kept us coming back almost every weekend would recommend it to any of the golfers out there!!
Played the course for the first time in early November. After a lot of rain (and of course leaves on the ground) this was a great course for “fall golf”. Would love to return in summertime if our schedule allows to see the course in its prime!
First time to play - Beautiful course, friendly pro shop staff, fast! fun! greens! Be accurate off the tee and careful of the fairways that slope toward the water. A great morning!!
