**BUYER BEWARE MUST READ** In 2018/2019, we embarked upon a major home addition and used Harris Exterior for our front door. At first, we were very pleased with the quality, selection, and many options available to personalize our door. The trouble began once installation began. As you can see from photos, the trim got installed crooked and delivered a piece that had been scratched & badly touched up. To their credit, once aware of this, they did come back with a new piece that had not been previously damaged. Unfortunately, the fit and height of the door were an issue, as you can clearly see in photos. Corners are not flush with one another, and door height is above the safety code, as also seen in photos. Multiple calls went into Harris for this to be fixed, and was told the "brickmold" needed fixing/ replacement, yet they could not/did not come to fix. During this time, many other workers from different trades were also working on my home, and each day costing us money Harris continued to not come fix our door. On final days, I spoke to our rep, stating again issues that need to be fixed with photos and code violation to get us approved to move back in with no urgency on their end still to resolve this. I told them the workers I had here at time were now going to try to resolve their issues best they could so we could move back in which for most part came out well other than the height which due to this failure by Harris we had to have a ridiculous transition threshold installed to meet code (see photos). At this point, I was just happy to finally be able to cut my losses and move back in. Fast forward about 5 years later (just before the statute of limitations would occur). Harris decides to sue me for money owed! (I paid someone else to fix what they didn't/couldn't/wouldn't). For me to defend my position is $250 just to go to court (which was about a week ago) Days prior to court day they snuck onto my property to take photos of my door,(black & white photos) now fixed, (not by them!) and to use those photos as their own as if they fixed it! I am in no way a vengeful person, as I stated , years prior was water under the bridge, and I m currently living with a ridiculous threshold due to their incompetence. I post this for others as if I saw this , would have gone elsewhere! That stated, currently, my neighbor is going through a very similar project, and she is very pleased with her "door store" just east on Roosevelt with zero issues! *see photos on Google review also**
They did my roof at Glen Ellyn, IL. They used GAF Timberline HDZ, which has a very good quality. The estimator talk with me several times prior to get the job done, so everything was specified the way I wanted. The crew was very organized and polite. They came on the scheduled date and had everything prepared so the service could be done as fast as possible. They were very attentive to details and when they left everything was perfect clean.
