“Made a 2 o’clock appointment for my son to get box braids and a trim/cleanup. Spoke at length with the lady booking the appointment about how his hair was and what he wanted done. We discussed how he needed a fade clean up and the long hair on top braided. Went to the 2 o’clock appointment and spoke briefly with the stylist. Told her to just braid it up on top and cleanup/trim on bottom. Left to run an errand and came back around 2:25-2:30. Parked right at front of the door and could see my son in the chair getting his braids. At 3:30 the stylist walked away and I thought he was done so I came in. Sat down and asked my son if he was done , and he told me that he had to wait for another stylist to cut his hair. When I asked about this I was told that the stylist who did his braids didn’t know how to cut hair with clippers, and the other stylist would do the haircut. I asked why I wasn’t told when booking his appointment that it would take 2 stylists, and 2 hours for 14 braids and a fade. Was told that the person booking the appointment didn’t know what the stylist could and could not do. I was wrong for assuming that the person booking the appointment would know the stylists capabilities so they could book with the appropriate stylist for what was needed. I was wrong for assuming that all licensed cosmetologist/barber could use clippers. I asked why the stylist didn’t tell me that she couldn’t cut hair using clippers when I brought him in, and wasn’t really given an answer. I paid for the braids and left to go get his hair cut at another shop, and still don’t understand why no one at any point didn’t tell me that, the stylist couldn’t cut his hair and that we would have to wait for the other stylist to finish with their appointments before his could be finished. My son likes his braids and at the end of the day that’s what matters to me, even if it did take an hour and half for 14 braids and we left without the hair cut that we booked for.“
