I have lost my trust in the Eye Center. I was sent home recently with eye-drops that only my doctor can give me. His nurse gave me 2ml of drops to last for 7 weeks. Of course, it didn't quite make it to 3 weeks. Now I have to call to get more and how long will that take? The doctor is too busy to give me much time, the staff doesn't really seem to care, and if there were someplace else to go in my area I would. Here I am going blind because of glaucoma and I feel like I'm just some guy with insurance money.

My wife has been suffering terribly with migraines for years. After trying all available treatment options through our GP, she got a referral to Illinois Neurological Institute. My wife was VERY excited at the prospect of finally figuring out the cause of her problems and trying a treatment that might actually help. After waiting several weeks for an appointment, my wife had the misfortune of meeting with a Carissa Gorham on her first visit, who immediately crushed all of my wife's hopes. This woman was rude, arrogant, dismissive, and utterly incapable of dealing with my wife in a professional manner. She offered no help, no suggestions, and basically said that our doctor has no idea what he's talking about. At one point she said "Well its not my fault you cant afford the prescription". What kind of an adult professional says that to someone with chronic migraines and financial difficulties? When my wife told her she was being rude and dismissive, her attitude was basically "tough s*** sorry you feel that way". What a disgusting representation of the medical community. Needless to say we will never visit this office again. People like this are the reason the medical community in general has such a bad reputation. People who have no interest in helping patients with their problems really have no business working in a doctor's office. We are exploring options as far as formal complaints with OSF, INA and others at this time. *Avoid the Normal Illinois office at all costs.*
