In 1999, my mom purchased a full body EpiLight Treatment Plan for me to correct my hirsutism. The HTGT technicians scarred me, humiliated me, delayed and denied my treatments.

Donald Tietz-The Owner-stood by “his girls”, discontinued my treatment plan, then went out of business. The inconsistent treatments failed, and the body and facial hair came back darker and coarser.

Today, I am stuck in the severe excoriation cycle that prevented me from caring for my mom. Since my mom died of neglect, my hirsutism affliction has gotten worse, and consumes what is left of my life.

I bought a full body package for 6k - I might as well have thrown that money in a trash can - HTGT makes it sound like they do laser hair removal when the machine they use is IPL which is not only not as safe as laser, but really shouldn't be used to treat darker skin such as mine- I have Indian skin and got burned slightly - when I called to tell them, they told me scabbing was normal - um yeah ok - it hurt to put my shirt on and the skin stayed black for a few weeks, but certainly did not make me want go there again and neither should that happen - after doing much research and talking to many doctors all of who were appalled that this place is using an IPL on skin like mine for hair removal, I called the manager once again to get my money back which she told me they don't do - 6 grand later, and many treatments, I am still full of hair - the treatments do not work, they keep offering to give you more treatments but who really wants to go back after being burned? Stay away. Go get laser done from a place that has high quality lasers that will not burn if used correctly. Oh and I have friends who used them and also got burned. Not to mention not the best customer service.

I went to their Lincoln Park branch and can't attest to their suburban branches. However, the Lincoln Park branch had one of the rudest technicians I have ever met, and they definitely gave me the run-around on price. I'd prefer to get fewer treatments and go to someone who inspires some degree of confidence. UPDATE: My suspicions were confirmed! I heard from a dermatologist that she's had a lot of HTGT clients come in to get treated for burns. Scary stuff.
