My dog had eaten chocolate cookies. When we got to Blue Pearl at 8 pm, we waited 5 minutes to see the triage vet tech. She looked at the amount my dog had eaten, took vitals, talked to the vet and said that she would be fine. She told me what to expect (possible GI issues) and offered for them to force the dog to throw up if I still wanted that, and explained the price to me. I declined, we went home and all was well. No charge since we only went to triage.
My golden, Juno, got a hold of 120 x 15mg selegiline pills (my older dog’s dementia meds) and had to be taken to BluePearl to receive emergency intervention. Initially, I took her to BluePearl Skokie since they were luckily less than 5 minutes from me. Unfortunately, the Skokie location wasn’t able to keep her overnight, so I ended up transporting her (after she was stabilized) to BluePearl Northfield. Between the time I dropped her off and the time the next day I got to pick her up and bring her home, I couldn’t have called less than 5 or 6 times.
