The team, including doctors and physical therapists, is thorough in their assessments and thoughtful in their treatment plans. Patients have reported remarkable recoveries, including one who made a full recovery from a brain bleed stroke in just three weeks. The staff is welcoming, caring, and goes above and beyond to make patients feel comfortable and supported. They also provide assistance with continued treatment and paperwork for disability claims. Overall, patients praise the center as the best rehab facility, with some even keeping in touch with staff and patients long after their departure.
I'm surprised to read so many negative reviews. Our experience has been nothing but lovely. We've had to have PT for many, many years (different places, people, etc.), and the therapists we've worked with here have been top-notch. Everyone cares deeply about the patients.
My therapist is excellent: Knowledgeable, skilled, patient, gentle, supportive. However, the management and communications of the Shirley Ryan system are TERRIBLE. They do not permit patients to communicate by phone, and it is almost impossible to get anyone to respond to voice mail messages I leave. I have left a great many messages trying to schedule PT sessions but no one ever contacts me. Although the PT is good, the overall experience is not good at all; I'd suggest going elsewhere for your PT needs.
I was at Shirley Ryan northbrook and I am very disappointed at the walking therapy i received,None or very minimal! I was told I needed a splint 3 months went by and 0 walking or splint! I ordered my own on Amazon! It works great at home! Laura Landmeir does excellent work! Speech is a no speech at all, spent time trying to figure out how I could go see other Drs, not very good.I was very motivated to go there because I heard so much about Shirley Ryan I didn’t see any equipment there to help in walking!
