I am new at Northbrook, I passed by LA fitness everyday. Recently My dauther visited Northbrook, She and I visit 4 GYMs and select LA fitness, I always workout early (none peak hrs) I like quite and do not want to wait for equipments. I feel clean and safe so I can concentrate my work-out. Over 50% are seniors. $900 / 3 months course personal training (none refundable, must pay even stop in the middle, looks like a trap and pricey for retirees. Others complaint smelly by many Koreans, is not true. In general, everything suits me. A little too much chlorine in the jacuzzi because you can really smell it with your nose, but it's tolerable. The only thing I don't understand is why people would want to go to the sauna dressed after the gym, I understand that such people come across, but the administration should explain and write that the sauna is not a gym and you need to dress properly there!!!

Facilities are generally clean but the clientele and staff can be tough; weights are rarely re-racked and one of the trainers, on her own lifting schedule, will routinely use a smith machine, a squat rack, and 3 sets of dumbbells
