From American Weathermakers Inc

On February 1, 1949, Bill Hochschild founded Northern Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration in Evanston. Northern was the first Carrier dealer in Chicagoland and, with the permission of Carrier, soon changed the name it to Northern Weathermakers, Inc. Weathermakers was and is still a trade name exclusive to Carrier. The company headquarters was located in Evanston for the first 40 years and moved to our current location in Northbrook in 1990. We are proud to have many employees who have twenty, thirty, and even 40+ years with our company. (In May of 1949, Bill Hochschild’s wife Fran went into labor and road to Evanston Hospital in the original company truck. Now that employee is trying to claim 74 years of longevity!
