About Navy RTC Great Lakes
The Navy RTC Great Lakes is a popular camp for kids, where they learn valuable skills and develop manners. It is known for its cold weather, so visitors are advised to dress accordingly. The graduation ceremony is a special event, with strict access control and early closing times. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and follow the flow of traffic to enter the gate. The food is alright, and the rooms have nice service, even though guests have to do it themselves. The swimming pool is large. The graduation ceremony is well-organized, and visitors with handicap permits can get close parking, wheelchair service, and special seating. The grounds and program have improved significantly since the mid-90s, despite a tight fit due to an extra division graduating.

So you have to start the process of attending several hours early. Sat in car line to get into facility for at least an hour before gates opened. Once parked and in line to get into the graduation hall, it moved quickly enough. Got to our bleachers about three hours before the ceremony started. They filled up extremely quickly. An hour or so later and you risk not finding a spot to sit. We sat on the end of a row and many people were frustrated trying to find seats. The worst part was passing the time in the uncomfortable bleachers...read full review
Food was alright, people walking around everywhere with red ropes always screaming and yelling, make you do push ups. Room service was nice, even tho you do it yourself. Swimming pool is big. Would reccomended this hotel
My son's graduation was awesome. Get there super early if you want a good seat. The drive into the parking garage is long if you get there later. We waited in line in our car for about an hour before we got into park. Once you are in then it's easy. We'll organized. Note, if you have a handicape decal, and you are going, take it with you, you will get close parking, wheelchair service in and out, and there is special seating for the handicap which came in handy for my mom who has limited mobility.
