Yama Physical Therapy Performance and Recovery

Tyler Yamauchi is the go-to guy for anyone looking to get back to their sport. As an elite gymnast-turned baseball player, my son experienced a few different overuse injuries, one which required 6 weeks of non-weight bearing and the other which required a cast. During recovery Tyler worked with my son to strengthen every other area unaffected by the injury and then guided him back to his elite sport level from complete rest to successful competition. I've watched as Tyler has brought kids back from ACL repair, scaphoid fractures, shoulder and elbow surgeries. With his first-hand experience as a college D1 gymnast, iron cross record holder and National Competitor on American Ninja Warrior, Tyler knows exactly what an injury can do you derail you and exactly what it takes to get a competitor back.
As for regular middle aged people, he also works miracles. He's helped me personally with a broken toe and general body inflexibility and aches and pains. I know it sounds overkill for a "regular" person like me to go to someone as qualified as Tyler but he makes all of his clients feel amazing.
He’s great with baseball players as well. For one, his practice is located in a baseball facility. Second, he made my sons transition from gymnastics to baseball very safe by working to strengthen the newly worked muscles and to help with keeping his shoulder and elbow healthy. A college pitcher that we referred to Tyler was extremely grateful for the introduction.
I can not recommend Tyler enough. I wish there were 10 stars.

Dr. Tyler is the best! My daughter, who is a gymnast, had back pain for 4 months. We went to numerous doctors, PTs, and chiropractors. None could ease or figure out the cause of her pain. After the first visit with Dr. Tyler, her pain lessened and the pain to work on strengthing the areas that were weak. After 4 sessions, she is pain-free and able to compete. Dr. Yamauchi at Yama PT Hoffman is an outstanding physical therapist. With a background in exercise science, I came in with a decent sense of what good care should look like — and he exceeded it.

He's an excellent clinician: knowledgeable, highly attentive, and genuinely focused on identifying the root cause of your issue rather than just treating symptoms. Every session felt purposeful, and he adjusted his approach based on how I was progressing. I always left feeling like he had a clear plan and knew exactly what he was doing.
