There are only two barbers that cut my hair during my time in Gillespie from '65 to '94: Harry and Stan.Harry was first, and Stan wasn't around then. Harry had his shop on Macoupin St. right next to the pool hall. Now, that entire building is gone.I don't know what happened to Harry (retirement, going out of business, death), but I guess sometime in the early '80s or late '70s I started going to Stan, who had recently opened his barber shop where it still is now.Stan always did a fine job of cutting my hair. And being a young fellow chasing girls and always trying to look cool, I was pretty picky about my hair.

If you like going to a barber shop and not one of the many fancy expensive hair salons, you should try Stans Barber Shop In Gillespie, IL. I grew up going to these old time barber shops and that’s where I enjoy getting my hair cut. Stan is a great guy and gives a great hair cut. I would highly recommend Stans for any mans hair cut.

Great guy and a great hair cut. Stan does a great job of cutting my hair every time. He always cuts my hair just how I ask and the lines are always straight and clean. once his hands stop shaking ..
