He increased the meds she was taking to keep her comfortable at half the cost of the other vets we had been to. Other vets demanded we do x-rays before they would help us, at a cost of $600. “As a veterinarian myself I try to take care of the basics with my horses....but my expertise is more small animals. In a time of great need when one of my horses experienced a horrible colic torsion Dr. Griffen was amazing and responded to my frantic phone call for help. In this day and age where veterinarians are often belittled and ridiculed for not providing constant service availability and for less than a living wage, treasure your veterinarians for they are invaluable and worth their weight in gold. Dr. Griffen could have charged me three times what he did and he would be worth every penny. The story doesn't have a happy ending as we had to euthanize our horse but I know he provided me with sound humane recommendations and helped my horse pass peacefully.“
