I often pass @Verlare Cleaners and am captivated by the beautiful quote written on their sign for all passerbys to see. I learned this past weekend, that it is not just a beautiful quote, but rather a way of life for them. Those beautiful words, phrases, quotes and sayings have been woven into the fabric of their institution and the kind-hearted people that make up their staff. In today's world everyone is busy, so it's unfortunately simple to miss something along the way... Something like picking up the dry cleaning. That is what we did. We forgot to pick up the dry cleaning on Saturday at Verlare Cleaners, which is closed Sunday's. But it wasn't just a suit to wear to work or a favorite shirt that we forgot to pick up. It was an incredibly important part of our families history; a beautifully made Baptismal outfit from my my sons Great Grandmother that was set to be worn that Sunday. It had been worn by both of his other brothers and is set to be preserved and passed down for generations to come. I took to social media (yay EParents) to see if anyone could help. And help they did! What a community of carrying individuals we live in. Within 12 hours several individuals were actively trying to get in touch with the team at Verlare Cleaners. A success it was! On Sunday, around 10am, a wonderful women replied to my thread - she contacted Wendy, whom she knew from Verlare Cleaners. Wendy not only requested that I call her, but she met my Husband at Verlare Cleaners within minutes of my phone call, opened up the shop ON A SUNDAY and handed him our precious Baptismal outfit.
