This is a great Family owned and operated company. Mike , Greg and Mrs. Berliant are true caring and wonderful owners that have been taking care of Illinois families for over thirty year. Susan and Colleen are a joy to work with. This is a great place to refer a loved one.

I can't say enough good things about Gentle Home Service. They were totally understanding and comforting and were able to assuage all of our concerns. The fact that they were so responsive and knowledgeable made our decision making that much easier. I highly recommend them and would encourage anyone looking for home health care services to think of Gentle Home Services First....they are indeed Gentle.

In my family's experience with Gentle Home Services, the company proved to care more about making a profit than providing quality home care. My family member was a hospice patient who needed in-home assistance, and we were explicitly clear with Gentle Home Services from the beginning about the type of care he required. Gregg, one of the owners from Gentle Home Services, came into our home to assess the patient's needs and assured us they would provide caregivers to accommodate his specific needs. The company proceeded to send us caregivers who were unqualified and/or unwilling to care for the patient. They repeatedly requested help from our family when the patient needed assistance throughout the day, and we were unable to leave the patient alone with the caregivers at any given time. Gentle Home Services also never provided our family with a care plan for the patient and did not communicate with us about the patient's changing needs as his disease progressed. After approximately two weeks of unacceptable patient care and poor customer service, we parted ways with Gentle Home Services, and the caregiver who was present at the time admitted that she was not trained for the type of care the patient needed and that she was only working as a caregiver temporarily because she was in between jobs in the real estate industry. Gentle Home Services' behavior was deplorable and unethical at best. The owner knowingly sent unqualified individuals into the home of a hospice patient, compromising his safety and his dignity during his final days. Rather than advising us that his agency was not equipped to handle my family member's specific needs, the owner chose to profit off of our family's vulnerability. After finally hiring a different home care agency for our family member, our concerns were further validated regarding Gentle Home Services' unprofessionalism and unethical practices.
