I was recently hospitalized for a hip replacement, and found that I had greatly underestimated the impact of the procedure and my ability to care for myself at home. I was in a panic as North-Shore/Skokie hospital was going to discharge me the next day. A friend referred me to Jamie Shapiro and Companion Services (Deerfield). She quickly put my mind at ease arranged for someone to care for me my first night home. She also arranged for coverage the next 6 nights, by two caregivers. The staff was incredibly compassionate, professional and helpful when we contacted them when another agency failed us. Within one day, we were sent a caregiver to interview, one who met all our needs, and check all boxes, and has turned out to be a very caring and compassionate, friendly attentive caregiver for my mother.
