“Quincy is a hidden gem in this town. First time there are not having a barber for well over 20 years. She was great from the get go, asked all kinds of questions, got a haircut and beard trim. She made sure I was completely happy before I left the chair. Great personality, had a pleasant conversation while she worked, very laid back environment. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you wanted to be treated like a valued customer, a friend, then choose Downtown Barbers. You will not be a number or be treated like your on a conveyor belt, get em in get ‘em out. At that age where proper hair care just isn't a top priority, he needed some *serious* hair help.Called ahead to ensure they were open and would be able to work with his lengthy, matted mess.Spoke to Phil who said bring GS in and he'd see.From the minute we arrived, I knew we were in just the right place.Phil was GREAT with him as he did his hair, talked to him with care and respect - as a young man not a little kid. And for sure did that boys hair up good!Would 10-10 recommend!Only caveat: Using a debit/credit card will cost you more.“

“I needed a haircut, and since recently moving to the area, I decided to see if this little shop near where I live now would be a good place to go for regular haircuts.I was happily surprised.The owner, who has lived here in Decatur all his life, has many years of experience cutting hair and was very gentle as he did his job. I could tell his hand movements were sure and steady, and that he knew exactly what he was doing. When I looked in the mirror after he was done, my haircut was perfect. I had been paying over $50 in Chicago for a good haircut! Another thing I like about Decatur; how affordable things are here! My price was about $16 and I got a shampoo after the cut too!I look forward to coming back here as often as I need to and I urge you to try this little barber shop and keep them in business. Also, please tip the person who cuts your hair when you're happy with the way they cut it! People often don't realize that a tip for a haircut is highly appreciated and polite. It's somewhat rude to not tip. And I only say this because when I tipped him he seemed very surprised, like he didn't expect it. But he should! He's a virtuoso with those ✂️!“
“Always amazing here. Eddie and Lumb are the definition of amazing barbers and men who I consider family at this point. My dad always brought me here with him growing up and now my husband and son come here as well. Never disappointed and always leave with a smile on your face.
