“I reached out to Hamel Dental to seek out a second opinion regarding the need for a possible crown. I was just told by the dentist I’ve been going to for many years that I would need one, but was very surprised to hear such news thinking this was pretty early in life to need such significant work. Years ago was the last time I had a regular filling with that dentist, and I had residual pain shooting through my mouth for about four months, so quite frankly I was very scared to do more in-depth work there, hence seeking the second opinion.
Upon meeting Dr. Bill, we chatted together and I decided to do a full exam with him despite having just been at the other dentist 10 days ago. One thing I had read about Hamel in many other reviews is the attention to detail at this office, and I wanted that full, thorough assessment to see if there were other issues I should know about. Dr. Bill truly performed the most thorough exam I’ve had by the actual dentist (not hygienist) in my whole life (I’ve had 4 prior dentists to this point). He measured tooth and gum health with various quantifiable data points per tooth, and as a nurse I very much appreciate the use of data to track progressions or changes in health, so this was an absolute A+ in my book. In addition to the wonderful assessment, I received the good news that my tooth would not need a crown, and Dr. Hamel would like to keep as much of the existing tooth structure as possible. This is music to my ears, and I am switching all of my dental care over to Dr. Hamel.
