When selling your home, your realtor is supposed to work for you. Kevin Pickford with Keller Williams CDA was my agent certainly did NOT do that. He did not take new photos of my home, but posted the pictures from its previous listing. I had made many upgrades and potential buyers did not see them. He did not have a For Sale sign posted on my property and never held an open house. He did not market my house in order to get the best price. He took the first offer and did not discuss with me that these potential buyers were having a hard time putting the money together. I was strung along and constantly given paperwork I did not fully understand and he did not lead me through the process. After many more issues, I enlisted advice from a real estate lawyer and when I questioned the paperwork and the progress of my sale (and whether we should find a more suitable buyer) Kevin became very defensive and told me it would most likely take three months to find another buyer (all the while pushing out the closing date while these clients put their finances in order.) Hayden and Coeur d'Alene is a hot market. Kevin stopped marketing my home the moment this questionable offer was made, stopping any opportunity to make a better profit and find more qualified buyers. I was kept in the dark in so many ways. On a professional note Kevin asked if my legal advisor was a man or woman and when I said that was not relevant and I stated that that was offensive he hung up on me and had his assistant call me and say he would no longer be talking to me. Yet, the deal was still not complete and he was going to make a large commission. I did not know I could have canceled the contract at that point or I would have. After the fact, I took a meeting with Keller Willams Broker Bud Bolan (he oversees the agents.) Bud said "I am sorry I wish you would have reached out to me earlier." He said there were many questionable issues with the contract and admitted Kevin did a bad job and that he'd be having a conversation with him. Please take your business to an agent and company that values your trust and will work with and for you. There are many good agents out there and Kevin Pickford is not one of them.
