About Westland Mall
The Westland Mall is a shopping destination with a wheelchair-accessible layout and ample parking. While it may seem a bit run-down and mostly empty, the staff at the stores are friendly and take their time to help customers. The mall has a few anchor stores, including Marshalls and Warehouse Bargain, as well as smaller shops like Claire's and Shoe Carnival. One notable feature is the ability to renew driver's licenses on-site, which has been appreciated by visitors. Despite facing challenges from online shopping, the mall offers a variety of shops and services, including a packed cinema. Some reviews mention the unique aesthetics of the mall, like its planters, benches, and clock. Although there are not many stores, the mall remains a viable option for those in the area and could benefit from more businesses and increased foot traffic.
Drove 3 hours to DOT. Closest DOT location from me with the soonest available driving test appointment found in Iowa. NOT busy & very nice workers who took their time helping my niece with all her questions. I would recommend this location to anyone in Iowa, it was worth the drive. Would give DOT a 5.0 rating. Did not shop the mall, but walked through some of it looking for the DOT. Not many stores in the mall, if any, that's the reason for the 3.0 rating. Nice town.
Obviously surrealist to witness the remnants of a past success. It would be interesting to organize a contest with all the artists and designers around under a Time Machine theme to show, live and imagine the past, present and future of this place. Whether it become a great place full of futuristic entertaining technology or a no man’s land dangerous unsafe and scary place. Last time I went there was for my driver licence.
This mall doesn’t have much to choose from. The movie theater is still kicking and was packed when I visited! This mall has unique aesthetics from the planters, benches and the clock is cool. This mall reminds me a lot of the Greenwood Mall in Bowling Green, KY and the Capitol Mall in Jefferson City, MO.
