Now that I’ve gone through two photo shoots and received my photos (with 3 more shoots to come!) I decided to leave a review! When I was pregnant with my daughter I knew we wanted to get some photos taken of her when she was brand new. I am from the Burlington area originally but now am located in Iowa City. As I was researching and looking for photographers - it seemed that most photographers photos of newborns and babies were similar - until I got to Kim Anne’s page. I knew of her bc she did my senior photos as well (10 years ago 🤫) and I remembered having a good time during my session then. After thinking about it I decided to schedule a consultation to talk about packages and pricing etc. After the consultation, I decided that I wanted Kim Anne to do our photos - maternity through the first year. I was talking about the package pricing with my significant other and him being a small business owner and myself working at our local hospital - we weren’t sure if it was something we could afford - but seeing that we wanted a year long plan, we had the whole year to pay it off. He wasn’t sure if we should spend the money but I had basically dug my heels in and he agreed - mostly because I was a miserable pregnant woman haha. Then Covid happened and we were not sure where that was going to leave us financially(especially my partner being a small business owner) but we decided very last minute that we would just do it. We called to schedule the maternity shoot at 35 weeks and they were able to get us in 18 days before my due date. Kim and her squad were amazing - my partner had to work late (and then travel to Burlington) and while we got started with my shoot I let her know and she said it wouldn’t be a problem. And even though he was even later than I thought he would be we still got amazing photos that we got sneak peaks of almost immediately after they were done. We scheduled our newborn session for 3 weeks out so that would land me with a 5 days old baby for our day long newborn session - but our Kobi girl had other plans and came 9 days late, and then we had to spend 7 days in the hospital after her birth. Kelsi was super amazing at keeping contact with us via text patiently awaiting the arrival of our daughter. We finally made it out when Kobi was 10 days post partum and I was still healing from my csection - Kim and Kelsi were so nice and so empathetic to my condition and welcomed my mother and sister in law with open arms and were so excited Kobi had her entourage with her! And even though we were there for 8 hours it didn’t even feel that way and they provided snacks and lunch and were so patient as we needed to feed her etc, and of course because my significant other is a small business owner he popped in in the middle and she was able to stop what she was doing to quickly get his photos and our family photos done so he could head back to Iowa City and get back to work. She was so accommodating and fantastic. The best part was when we got to see sneak peaks and Papa and Dad had to concede that they were glad we decided to spend the extra money. The photos of my daughter looked like they were from a magazine - we were so impressed. I’m pretty sure I cried they were so beautiful. Finally, (actually like a couple weeks later lol) we got our appointment to order what photos we wanted - Kim sits with you and you go through literally every photo she has taken and pick your favorites and order from there. We finally got our photos back and I couldn’t be more happy. We ordered two beautiful canvases and a few smaller 8x10s and 5x7s. We cannot wait for our next session with Kim. Sorry, for the long winded review but I’m just here to say - you get what you pay for and these are memories that we will cherish forever! If you are on the fence with whether or not to get your baby’s photos done here just take the leap - you won’t regret it!
Did an amazing job on my daughters 1st birthday photos. Highly recommend her and we will be back to get more photos in the future!
Thank you for capturing Norah as Norah! And her love for baby chicks!
