Dr. Geelan is the best. I first went to see him when I was having some significant back issues with my T11 and T12 areas on my vertebrae and Dr. Geelan took the time to explain the process and we worked through it. After a few months I felt great and go back whenever I need maintenance. To ensure I keep my spine healthy. Your spine affects every nerve in your system--you have to maintain it.
Meeting Dr. Geelan was probably one of the best things that has happened to me since I moved to Iowa in 2011. After a work injury in 2007 I've been through multiple specialists, surgeries, treatments, physical therapy all to which gave me no relief from my pain. Leaving me pretty much completely disabled with only the title of permanently partially disabled. In my treatment with Workmen's Comp. in seven years I was never referred to a chiropractor. But I also think, had I been referred I may not have liked the experience. After being treated by Dr. Geelan over the last couple years I have realized he is one of the best. Due to his compassion and care for patients instead of a paycheck focus. He will not treat you if it is not necessary. He will let you know if you need to continue seeing him or if he cannot help you. One thing that amazed me the most about Dr. Geelan was his ability to describe to me my symptoms and my pains by looking at my x-ray without me even telling him any of it to begin with. When I started seeing him I was 60 pounds heavier due to lack of mobility. I am 5' 1" and have never till my injury been over 110. He helped me rid myself of what I like to call "lifetime days" which consist of me sitting watching Lifetime movie network all day. I can go weeks now without having to go see him. Where before I saw him I had pain at a scale of 6-8 constantly. Now those are bad days. If I have a bad day I go see him. He helped me see a light at the end of the tunnel and in my case I am permanently injured and he told me from the start "I cannot fix you, but I can sure help you" first person in my 11 years of medical care for this injury to say they can't fix me when I meet them. Might seem weird to appreciate that. But sometimes with chronic pain the truth does set you free. I think anyone who doesn't at least come in and chat with him if they already get chiropractic care is missing out even. He is simply the best! At the top of my pedestals of Human beings!!
