We had a situation with our dog Tuesday evening and were very concerned about her behavior. I called the vet we had been taking her to, and was more or less laughed at and not given much to go on. This was after waiting for her to call me back. The bond between most pet owners and their animals is very strong, so anyone that knows that should understand how upsetting that was. I was still left with the question as to what to do. I decided to call the Goldfield vet. The doctor answered right away, asked questions, and talked me through different options. I hung up feeling assured that Hazel was going to be okay, and we were able to follow his advice and get Hazel comfortable so we could all sleep. I understand that there are times when a phone call back has to be the option, but how you respond to me about a dog we love very much is monumental. And it should be noted that this doctor has never seen Hazel. He could have asked if this was a patient of his, and I would have understand. He didn't. The vet who has seen Hazel twice a year for almost 5 years didn't want to be bothered. It's an obvious choice where we go now.
