Dr. Darmafall is very encouraging and it made all the difference for me. I had a clavicle fracture 7 weeks ago and felt really pessimistic about my recovery until seeing Dr. Darmafall. It's such a pleasure to meet 1 of the few women orthopedic surgeons in practice and I felt so comfortable talking to her. I get to see her in about a month and I'm following her direction and feeling great about my recovery. I highly recommend Orthopedic Specialists for care!
My experiences with Dr Darmafall and her nurse were all fantastic. Dr Darmfall listened to me, validated me, explained to me exactly what was going on, who my options were, the likely outcome of each option, and she supported my decision.
This is in stark contrast to my experience with Dr Mendel and his staff. Dr Mendel talked over me, condescended to me, did not listen, did not explain, and tried to make me feel like I don’t know and can’t trust myself, my body, and my experiences.

I’m highly recommend Dr. McGowan!!! From day he was was so informative, kind, listened to and answered all my questions. He even called me the night before my surgery today check on me, how I was feeling and if I had any questions. The morning of surgery I saw him and let me know exactly what was going to go on. Later that afternoon he came to my room to tell me how everything went and will be back again in the morning. I felt so comfortable with him doing surgery. He is extremely kind, he listens and answers your questions and he really cares about his patients. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!
