The headache clinic is run by a bunch of nurses LARPing as actual experts. Maybe their care is worthwhile if you have simple headaches and need fancy Motrin, but even then, you'll have to bypass the gauntlet of criminal incompetence which runs rampant in its front of house. I, unfortunately, do not have simple, easy-to-treat headaches, and because of this, my care was delayed until I found a real, actual MD to discuss my symptoms. If you have facial pain or trigeminal neuralgia, DO NOT waste your precious time going to this office. Not only will they forget to call you, not take notes on your appointments, and not communicate information to others within their own office, because certain diagnoses are COMPLICATED and hard to treat, they are simply unequipped to handle it. You deserve an actual MD or DO-- a real doctor-- to care for you, instead of a bunch of egotistical nurse practitioners who seem to think a few extra online nursing classes makes them as useful as a physician. Honestly, I recommend you stop using the Genesis system altogether if you're able. That system seems to think it's appropriate to recommend this clinic, not to mention allow them to continue running an office as though they're competent to do so. Alicia Duyvejonck, as well as her poorly trained staff, set me back literal years in my care, which has resulted in years of a reduced QOL. I left my neurologist today and learned even more about how negligent and incorrect they are in how they handle patients and our care. They won't even google basics about the prescriptions they write. Going to this office, outside the care of basic headaches (presumably), is a liability to your health.

Watch out for their tricky way of billing. You think you have them paid but it's tricky. They harass you every month because the payment goes to Dallas Texas and takes awhile in the mail.

My recent experience with the Mercy One healthcare system has been deeply disappointing. Following an 11-day hospital stay at Mercy in Dubuque, my sister was transferred to another facility for a 5-day EEG due to the unavailability of the test at Mercy. Regrettably, this transition only led to further frustration and unanswered questions regarding my sister's undiagnosed episodes. Despite the anticipation of clarity, the outcome fell short of expectations. After being transported via ambulance, my sister spent 36 hours in a bed, medicated, only to be sent home prematurely due to staffing constraints, rendering the trip seemingly futile. This raised serious doubts about the decision-making process behind her transfer. In comparison to past experiences with different healthcare providers, particularly a previous case involving my son, the shortcomings of this recent ordeal are stark. Whereas a more comprehensive approach led to successful diagnosis and treatment in the past, this time around, there has been no tangible progress beyond the suggestion of trying migraine medication. Moreover, the failure to complete the full 5-day EEG study undermines the purpose of the test, which relies on capturing activity over an extended period. The subsequent unnecessary trauma inflicted by the ambulance trip to Davenport only compounded our frustration. Overall, my family and I are deeply disillusioned by the lackluster care provided by the Mercy One healthcare system. We had hoped for more effective communication, thorough planning, and a commitment to resolving my sister's health issues. Unfortunately, our experience has left us feeling let down and questioning the quality of care within the system. I would give a zero rating if I could. Avoid this healthcare system if you can.
