I received excellent care at Genesis. Now that MercyOne bought Genesis, care has gone to hell. My doctor and two associates are leaving. No referral - no doctor available. Who's going to write my prescriptions?

In the last two weeks I have had to have a CT scan and an ultrasound. My physician set these up at Genesis West. Both encounters were not good. You walk into this hospital and the staff in the admission department are rude, they act like you are putting them out because you walked in the door. No kind words, no warmth at all. Then the same treatment was noted in the diagnostics department. If these people hate their jobs or hate people so much they should find other employment. I will avoid this hospital from here on out.

Genesis ruined my life. When I was 45. I needed a surgery that would have taken about 1hr and they refused to do the surgery. They said that it was not bad enough to treat. I have now lived through 15 years of hell. I lost my $75,000 a year career, my wife and all dignity. My health is failing now and The Mayo Clinic has determined that my condition is now beyond surgical repair and they have told me to write my will. Can you imagine telling a cancer patient that your cancer is not bad enough to treat, come back when it gets worse? The Orthopedic Dr.s should be in jail from robbing the prime of my life and leaving me hopeless alone and suffering for all eternity. When they finally did surgery it was the wrong surgery. I have now been diagnosed with a condition that leads to Alzheimer's. I want to kill myself and i was so full of hope for the future because I caught this condition early and they did nothing but ridiculed me by judging my injuries by the amount of money they could make off of my insurance. My advice to anyone that wants to live with dignity and hope for the future is to go to The Mayo Clinic. They did what they could to ease my suffering and treated me with the respect a dying man deserves. Mayo is non-profit and Genesis is an incompetent meat processing plant that does not care about human life.
