About The Brenton Arboretum
The Brenton Arboretum is a 148-acre not-for-profit institution dedicated to inspiring joy through the beauty and knowledge of the natural world of trees. Visitors can explore more than 2,500 trees and shrubs along miles of pedestrian trails, some of which offer different views and areas for relaxation. The arboretum features a fun nature playscape for children and a modern restroom near the large structure with picnic tables, making it a great spot for families. Dogs are welcome, and picnicking is allowed. The Arboretum is privately funded through memberships and donations, and it serves as a rental venue for private events such as family reunions, weddings, and parties. Visitors have praised the beautiful trees, well-maintained walking trails, and the opportunity to spot various bird species, including the northern bobwhite, eastern meadowlark, and American goldfinch. Some visitors noted that it is a peaceful place with fewer people, ideal for relaxation and nature photography. Lovely arboretum with prairie restoration. Lots of easy trail options, to build your own adventure. The wild flowers were plentiful and beautiful as well.
You can drive the whole loop for an overview, and/or park at one of several parking areas to walk the trials. Maps available at the entry.
June Sunday afternoon, and only saw 1 or 2 other parked cars, saw no one.
Toilets and water bottle fill station are available.
Was here for my nephews graduation party, some an amazing place for good pictures and just nature.
Beautiful place to spend a weekend morning with family and friends. Serene and quiet place to relax. It has nice wood log playground for kids. Kids had a great time exploring the trails and playing in the parks.
