As many of you now know, The Glady Mae Animal Sanctuary has found its permanent home on a 10-acre farm south of Mason City. When the Board of Directors decided that The Sanctuary was best suited to be in North Iowa, specifically Cerro Gordo County where Mom was from, I called on Lori Stewart (of Stewart Realty) to help us find that perfect acreage in a very tight market. Lori knew that this would not be a traditional property search. But she hung in there with us, checking availability of possible properties on a daily basis. Some we looked at, and some we said, "no way." It was a long and arduous task, but it finally happened. We closed on the Mason City property June 30th. During the buying process, Lori went above and beyond telling me what to do and when to do it thankfully. Larry and Dean Stewart got into the mix at times attending zoning meetings and negotiations with the seller's Realtor.
