About Ankeny Art Center

The Ankeny Art Center is a fantastic and phenomenal place with a beautiful atmosphere. It offers fantastic art, including a Monet, and is a free destination worth visiting. The center provides pottery and ceramics classes with incredibly knowledgeable and super nice teachers. It has a great community and warm atmosphere for potters to collaborate, with extremely affordable studio fees. It is also a very cute place where kids can post their work. The center is highly recommended.

I started pottery classes at the AAC in 2018 and have never left! The community of potters they have developed there is great and I love being a part of it. I can’t recommend the classes enough. If you’ve been wanting to try something out, go for it!

Listen, I read a reddit one time that said Iowa doesn't do tourism.... Well, this alone is worth the tourism. This place was fantastic. The art, the atmosphere..... The Monet..... I cannot recommend this place enough. Go take a vacation like we did just to visit the art center. It's free, it's phenomenal, it's art ... It's beautiful.

I have taken ceramics classes and open studio ceramics at the Ankeny Art Center. The teachers are super nice and incredibly knowledgeable... and the staff are great as well! It's a warm atmosphere for potters who like to collaborate, and the studio fees are extremely affordable :)
