“I genuinely can’t say enough good things about my experience at Freedom Ink. Andrew did a tattoo for me during a really difficult chapter of my life, and because of that, this tattoo carries a lot of meaning for me. I already knew the piece was important, but the care and attention Andrew and Christina put into the experience made it even more special. I walked in with a vision, and I walked out with something that turned out even better than I imagined.
Andrew was incredibly thorough when explaining the placement. He noticed that because my shoulder is built differently than the person in my reference photo, putting the tattoo in the exact same spot would have made the design sit and look completely different. Instead of just doing what was shown in the picture, he took the time to explain why and helped me find the placement that would actually complement my body. That kind of honesty and attention to detail means a lot when you’re getting something permanent.
I was also completely indecisive about the font. 😂 Andrew and Christina patiently showed me how the different options would look and gave me their honest opinions without ever trying to steer me toward one particular choice. They offered guidance while still respecting that this was my tattoo and my vision.
And the finished tattoo is beautiful. Andrew absolutely killed the fine lines and cursive lettering. Everything is clean, delicate, and exactly what I hoped for. I’m extremely picky when it comes to tattoos, so when I say I was impressed with the finished piece, I genuinely mean it.
Andrew also designed and did my son’s first tattoo, which made the experience even more special for our family. My son came in with an idea and gave Andrew the details of what he envisioned, and Andrew took those details and brought the entire concept to life. Watching him turn my son’s idea into an actual piece of art was really cool, and my son couldn’t have been happier with the result. That alone says a lot about Andrew’s ability to listen to what a client actually wants while still bringing his own artistic talent into the process.
What stood out just as much as the tattoos, though, was the people behind the shop. Andrew and Christina are genuinely wonderful. They’re personable, funny, honest, and incredibly welcoming. They have an inspiring story of their own, and there’s something really refreshing about being around people who can joke around and make you comfortable while still being completely professional and upfront about their work.
I’m usually very particular and have historically preferred female tattoo artists, so Andrew being one of the very few exceptions says a lot. 😂 I’m already looking forward to letting Christina work on a few pieces for me too!
