“We purchased a home owned for 27years, and the landscaping was completely overgrown and unsightly. Water drainage issues also caused the lawn and plants to die. We went to several accredited landscapers for design and cost proposals. We elected Southern Elegance as Steve understood and created a design we were happy with. His pricing was negotiable and inline with other firms.
As with any project, we requested changes during the installation phase. This included additional planting for screening and upgrades to landscape lighting. Steve was considerate with pricing these changes, which accounted for 15% of the original contract. Even with this added scope, the crew was able to stay on schedule.
What we appreciated with working with Southern was their commitment and over site of the project from start to finish. We had an experienced installation team and most importantly, the project manager Eddie, came daily and spent as much time as necessary to assure the project was being done correctly and that we were happy.
All of these aspects are important to a successful project, but we were extremely pleased when they returned to address drainage issues still occurring. They had no issues and corrected the issue promptly.

“Just an excellent experience - starting with the quick turnaround from Justin of the estimate, proposal and terms agreement. Then to the crew getting after it - they worked hard, even in the high heat.
I noticed they walked the property, locking in the project scope. Then, in unison, the crew got to work executing the plan. “This is for my parents. They came out and removed around 30 trees. The reason for 5 stars is because of their attention to detail. They removed 6 reflectors and 3 lights that lined their driveway as a precaution so they don’t damage them. And when they were done, they remembered to replace them. They had to remove a section of fence, they replaced it. And remembered the placement of rocks in front of the fence and put them back exactly how they were before. That level of customer service and detail is hard to find and worth every penny“

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Golden Pine Straw. They had a person out to quote the job within 24 hours and then were available to do the work that same weekend. Existing mulch removed, weed control matting was placed, mulch replaced and additional mulch added. They made sure to remove and replace the mulch retaining stones so the fabric was underneath them.

Will be using them for any and all similar jobs in the future.

From our initial contact with Carter Mason, including the initial meeting to design our replacement wall, scheduling of removing the failing wall, delivery of supplies to be used, constant communication of work schedule, skill level of the team, professional behavior of all involved, and the final cost was exactly as agreed upon which we felt was a very fair price for the level of difficulty.
