The Dr. and staff were all friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. They gave me 2 mini samples of itch relief moisturizer (that is OTC to try) to help with itchy irritated skin. They are my go-to for skin problems or questions every time- they help me out!

3 stars on Yelp means Ok or A-Ok (dependent on the browser & device). I came here specifically because I was in search of an African-American dermatologist. I'm not racist or militant: 1) I have a scalp condition that I've been dealing with for more than 15 years - & the non-African American derms I've treated with tend to prescribe stuff that dictates applying topicals & shampoos daily which is absolutely not practical for my hair. Add to that - because my hair is long (or was) & thick - I was decidedly getting the 'brush off' with statements like, "Well! I know you're concerned - but you've got so much hair - it's not even noticeable ... I have patients that have XYZ ... OR ... you've got so much hair - look at me - as they gesture to their own bald heads or receding hairlines. As if society embraces that look on a woman. As if it's some sort of crime for me to try to be PROACTIVE & get 'out in front' of the issue BEFORE I wind up with a massive bald spot in the center of my head. 2) I scar easily & tend to have hyper pigmentation issues - so much so that people will actually look at a scar that's weeks or months old & ask, with concern, "What happened?" Here's my notes from my visit: 1) Nice building. Nice area. Parking is free at Marietta location - but parking lot was packed. There is an urgent care on the first floor. Be prepared. 2) Office staff is friendly & professional. Everyone was polite, polished & professional. Made a point of saying 'hello' & 'welcome.' I'm from a very small town - I grew up with folks making eye contact & saying hello, but I've been up here for a while - so it was both jarring & pleasing. 3) My nurse - or PA - not sure - but she was awesome - meant to write this review the same day - before I forgot. My bad. :-) We bonded over our love of the ease of wearing our hair long & our love of long bohemian dresses & skirts / maxi dresses. 4) There was a bit of wait - but not terrible. I arrived at 10:25'ish for 1030 appt. I think I was called back around 11am. After my intake / interview with the nurse - I feel like the doctor - Dr. Candace Kimbrough-Green - came in around 1120am. 5) I have to admit - my actual time with Dr. Kimbrough-Green felt rushed. She was pleasant enough, but she spent most of her time talking to her nurse - & discussing what Ambetter (my admittedly not so great insurance would cover). She prescribed a Topicort spray for both my scalp & my hyperpigmentation issues (a first), kinda brushed off my other concerns - 'brush off' may be too harsh of a term - but she told me that she felt like my skin sensitivities & allergies would preclude her from being able to do much else. I think we spent about 6 minutes together total. 6) I wound up with another round of super painful scalp injections. The scalp has little to no fat - so injections in your scalp - even for a soldier like myself - they HURT. 7) The doctor & nurse told me to call them if I got the pharmacy & discovered that the Topicort was covered. Got the pharmacy - & the generic was $592. After clicking on the text they sent - to the wrong number - the price was $185. I called the office that same day. No response. I called the office the next day. No response. I'm hoping to hear from someone Mon or Tue. 8) They forgot to collect my email so I couldn't use portal to message. Wrap up Ok - so - if you look at the bullet points - & you're wondering why 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. I contacted them within 1 hour of leaving - didn't expect to hear back that day - but didn't even hear back the NEXT day. It's because I'm hoping it was timing issue & a fluke. It was 'lunch time' when I left. & the next day was a Friday. I really did appreciate how sweet & friendly they were with scheduling & I loved the friendly, relatable receptionist.
