Ly's African Hair Braiding is a busy spot with a friendly and engaging staff, including Mona and Sara. While appointments may run behind schedule, the braiders are quick and skilled, with a focus on African hair. The atmosphere is lively, with great African movies playing in the background. Despite some minor issues with cleanliness, the prices are fair, and the braiding process is efficient and effective.
Ly has been my go-to for braids for over 20 years. She's the best with tree braids, period. She and Mona are my favorites but everyone in her shop does a great job and they have great prices.
They were running about 30 min behind my appointment time, but Mona and Sara are quick, funny and engaging. I have referred over 3 pple that still go and it's been almost 2 yrs for myself.
This was my first visit here. This place was extremely busy when I was there. Walk-ins are accepted, but be prepared to wait. Ms. Sarah did my hair, and she braids tight! I managed to get through it. Afterwards, I was told just tell her next time lol. I like that it's close to my house, their prices for cornrows are fair, and they braid fast. The only thing I see where they can improve is cleanliness. They move people about so fast that there's hair left from the prior person. I actually cleaned off the arms in my chair. They said I'll be back and they're probably right.
