Foothill Kennel, owned and run by Jim Kenny, is a reputable breeder of top-notch Pudelpointers. With 25 years of experience in breeding and training hunting dogs, Jim has developed a passion for Pudelpointers due to their temperament, personality, trainability, natural skill, and intelligence. Jim is known for his excellent customer service, responding quickly and candidly to inquiries, and providing valuable advice to his clients. The kennels are clean, and the dogs are intelligent, eager to please, and easy to train. Many of Jim's clients have reported excellent results with his dogs, including success in field training and NAVHDA testing. One customer, who is also Jim's sister, even credits the Pudelpointer she purchased from Jim with being a great companion for her intellectually disabled daughter. Overall, Foothill Kennel is highly recommended for those looking for a reputable breeder of Pudelpointers.
Jim is great to work with. Responds quickly and candidly and is generous with advice for his dogs. I have been looking for a reputable breeder for the last 3 years and was tired of dealing with the good ol boy network of gun dog breeders, with Jim NOT fitting this profile. I have two of his dogs and both are fantastic. Intelligent, eager to please, and progressing well in field training, I am confident they will both excel in NAVHDA testing. Highly recommended!!! Interesting to read others negative ratings on Jim and his customer service. I had been waiting for years for the right PP breeder as most I have found to be frustrating to deal with, non -committal, and catered only to those already "in the club". I wanted a breeder with years of experience, not a fly by night kennel. There aren't too many out there so beware. Jim has the experience I was looking for. I have two of Jims dogs and both are amazing. His kennels are clean. Jim is to this day very accommodating in relaying relevant information, and he has responded quickly to any questions I have had. As for the dogs, they are both very intelligent, quick to learn, and have easily assimilated themselves into family life. They have been excellent in their field training, exhibiting strong prey drive, with beautiful points/holds on live birds, and both quickly adapting to water and retrieval. In the field switch on, at home, switch off. Thats the beauty of PP's. I am confident both will pass the NAVHDA test easily. Highly recommend both Jim and his dogs. Good hunting!
