Pam , the owner, has been taking care of my 90 year old mother's hair washes, cuts, and perms for 12 years now. She is a marvelous and kind woman who my Mom is forever loyal to. Thank you, Pam!

There are not enough amazing words to say about the staff at Madison Julia's. Everything from the professionalism to the overall family atmosphere is above and beyond!!! When I walked out not only was I ecstatic about the way my hair looked, but I walked out knowing that this is now MY hair salon.

Initial thought "maybe this will be a place I can finally get good results!!". Unfortunately that was not the case. First appt with H. Kitchens was a consultation, which went ok. She assessed my hair and decided to add about 15 foils to blend the orange tones from the previous salon. That was $160. I said, quality work I will pay for!! I scheduled another appt so that she could do hi/lo lights and make me "love my hair". That was an absolute disaster. She double booked. My hair paid the price! I literally sat with my hair sectioned in 3 parts. The first part she did was left way too long and caused the "straw like" white (if you know blondes, this is a sign of over processing). The lo light she used, turned my hair violet and that required some scrubbing to remove. More damage. She eventually did the sides. Watching the foils she was able to rinse that out without much damage being done, but the lo light wasn't on long enough to change the orange/brass color. Left with a muddy/mouse look. Once all the foils were out, she had me sit at the bowl as she attempted to "treat" my hair, with hopes that she could minimize the damage. This appt started at 2:30, I was walking out of that salon at 8:00 p.m. very disappointed. Had she booked according to the services she was performing, she would have never booked full foils and a bayalage at the same time. By doing this, the time needed to watch the process of the hi lights/foils was ignored and dry/brittle hair was the final result. She is a very nice person and truth is I really thought she was capable of doing what I asked for. Her pictures & post on FB shows results that all of us want when we leave a salon. However her inability to balance her appts is the reason I'm leaving a negative review. Once hair is damaged, it takes a lot to get it healthy again. Since being in this area, my hair has been in a REPAIR state!! I will ask, what is the purpose of a consultation?! I don't know what it is about this area, but finding a person that knows blonde and has the ability to give you blonde without destroying your hair, seems almost impossible!! Yet they want to charge you as if they came from LA or NYC. It seems most of the females I've seen try to make themselves feel better for their screw up by blaming you or the condition of your hair. Just own that maybe you're not as good as you are claiming to be. This doesn't apply to this particular situation, I just think HK didn't plan accordingly and the other service got the attention and my hair suffered for that.
