Sadly last weekend, my sweet Sasha showed signs of pancreatitis again. She went outside and up the hill to be alone. She communicated to Max to stay away. I tried bringing her in but she wanted to be outside. I knew from her behavior and condition that the time had come. I found out from a friend about Codapet. When Dr. Keyser called, I was happy because she had cared for Sasha before at our vet. She and her husband came out to our home. Sasha still didn’t want to come in, so we went outside to be with her. My husband and I were so grateful that this was an option for us at all, and we were totally blown away by the incredibly caring and professional demeanor of the vet and tech. We were not sure what to expect and that’s always scary, but we felt at ease and comforted by the way we were treated and could not imagine a better scenario in which our best girl crossed the rainbow bridge—lying in her own bed getting her ears rubbed one last time. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Greta Goranova and the team at CodaPet. I planned for in home pet euthanasia for my sweet girl when the time came. I overlooked that no services were available on a Sunday and time was of the essence. CodaPet saved us that day. There is nothing that can prepare you for this day. I remember my cat panicking before we went inside for in-clinic euthanasia. This time, my dog was comfortable in her own bed in a peaceful setting that does not exist in a clinic. I have zero regrets doing in home euthanasia. It is the way it should be if you are so lucky to have the circumstances to do it.
