UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital

When our 12 year old Boston Terrier had surgery to remove a cancerous mass on his elbow, our vet was not able to get the entire mass as it had attached to Max's muscle. She referred us to the UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital's oncology department. Although the first available appointment was 6 weeks away, it was well worth the wait. Every single person we encountered from the check in desk to the check out desk was wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about UGA and Dr. Birchler in dermatology. Their kindness, compassion, and knowledge cannot be beat. Dr. Birchler showed he genuinely cared about my dog's well-being and took his time listening, asking questions, and explaining things. He also called and emailed between appointments to check on my dog and see how he was doing. We live 3 hours away, and while UGA may be more costly than our local vets, the care my dog receives here is worth the drive and every dollar spent.

First horse, first colic emergency and surgery. The team at the UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital was amazing, especially Dr. True. He kept me in the loop via daily calls (multiple times a day as decisions needed to be made), texts and explained everything so wonderfully, that a horse newbie like me could follow along and make appropriate decisions. He was incredibly patient, laid out options clearly including cost implications. Our horse had a good stay there, and is on her way to recovery at home now. Thank you so much to the team - could not have wished for a better experience!
