I just recently completed a dog reactivity course with Clay. My dog Bruce almost instantly bonded with him, and was extremely excited to go to training each week! Clay was clear, patient, and showered Bruce with praise for the first several weeks, and instructed me how to appropriately praise and correct my boy for the backend of the training. Luckily Clay determined that Bruce was only nervous and overly excited, as opposed to aggressive, but I feel much more confident in handling future reactive scenarios properly. We have been working with Clay for training my dog Gus and he has been incredible. Gus is 5 and we were worried that he may be too old to be trained to not be so aggressive and reactive towards people and Clay has helped us realize that is not the case and Gus is actually an incredible dog and a quick learner. Gus enjoys the days he comes in for training and has become more confident and overall happier. Cannot recommend off leash training more especially working with Clay he has been incredible because he not only teaches your dog but also you on how you are supposed to practice these new commands with your dog. Clay is amazing! We signed up for 8 weeks training for our very reactive, protective and ill-mannered Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Maggie. By the second lesson he taught us how to “read” her behavior and apply proper responses to her reactivity. He helped us understand that Maggie wants to work and needed to be given jobs to do. We went from feeling overwhelmed to believing that she really is and can be a great family dog! Thank you Clay for teaching us patience and proper tools for our special breed!
