I’m not sure why the city and OUC continue working with Davey. They do not care about the health and integrity of the trees they butcher in an effort to cut them away from power lines. And there’s no accountability when complaints are received- City and OUC say we have to take it up with Davey directly, but the damage is done. It’s absolutely ridiculous. We JUST had the tree pictured trimmed ourselves, and it wasn’t even close to the line. Now the tree is heavy on one side which puts our actual house at risk. They also left all of the branches in our yard, who knows when that will be picked up.

This is our annual street-wide tree butchering. The approach is consistent: hacking, slashing, and walking away. No proper pruning standards, no long-term planning—just damage severe enough that many of these trees decline and die within a few years.

This tree is a prime example. Power lines were installed for new construction, and over the past three years it has been repeatedly and aggressively cut back, leaving it structurally compromised. I grew this tree from a seed over 30 years ago. It is now riddled with fungal infection as a direct result of improper cuts.

In my opinion, if you want a company that will take amazingly beautiful trees and turn them into unsightly disasters, these people are exactly who you are looking for! The trees along our road in my opinion look so terrible and this company is to blame! I sincerely hope they go bankrupt and become irrelevant.
