About Weston YMCA Family Center
The Weston YMCA Family Center is a health and wellness gym that offers a great variety of activities such as weight training, cycling, yoga, and swimming lessons. The facility is well-maintained and has programs suitable for all ages, making it a fantastic location for families in Weston. The gym features pleasant community members and genuinely friendly staff who are helpful. The swimming lessons are a highlight, with instructors who are patient, encouraging, and skilled at teaching children. The family changing room is clean and organized, making it easy for families to access the pool. Early morning lap swimming hours all week provide a convenient option for those looking to avoid traffic and start their day positively. However, there are some areas for improvement. The room where trainers work with clients can be small and lack space for others to stretch or use a mirror. The rule about not accepting kids 30 minutes prior to closing in the daycare should be more visible. Additionally, some treadmill machines have been out of order for a while and should be fixed or replaced. Despite these issues, the Weston YMCA Family Center remains a welcoming place that fosters community involvement and promotes healthy families, making it a great addition to the area.
Gym: Way too crowded, not enough equipment, and too small a space. If you want to use something, someone's already using it. Backpacks used to save spaces while chit-chatting. People with three different sets of dumbbells in front of them, hoarding them for a half hour. Tried multiple times of day with the same results. Zero staff present to enforce rules, if any. Upside: New equipment.
Also, I know nothing about other facilities on-property, like the pool, camps, etc. I've heard from others that they are great.
A great YMCA. Is currently revamping it's upstairs workout area in Spring of 2025, but had an already more than adequate gym and fitness area. Also has a GREAT spin studio with energetic class instructors. Has a healthcare discount for first responders.
Very crowded. The group fitness room has always issues with music/stereo, microphone, classes often overcrowded. Not enough weights/equipment in workout smaller room or group fitness room. The nearby YMCA Pembroke Pines is so much better and everything works.
