Our two boys entering 4th and 5th grade just completed a week of Sea Turtle Camp and it was amazing! Amy, Linda, Diane, and everyone else involved were fantastic - highly energetic, passionate, and immediately made the boys feel comfortable. They learned so many things and came home each day with dozens of stories and facts. They learned to build enrichment devices for the animals in the hospital, talked to the veterinarian and got to "be" veterinarians and treat cases based on past patients. Great organization doing a much sadly needed service rescuing marine life. Visited during the open house and all the staff were awesome. Very friendly and open. A definite must see in the area. Don't expect "for profit commercial" driven endeavors. This is non-profit at its best.
Our school has been making visits to Whitney Lab for close to 15 years now. In addition we have utilized or traveling zoo on many occasions with the lower grade levels. The staff there is simply outstanding, and the volunteer docents are always so friendly to our students. The science they teach is amazing, kids come away with so much knowledge of plankton, native and invasive species, etc
