We had an appointment and attempted to contact the office to cancel it, but we could not get ahold of anyone. It seems nearly impossible to reach someone by phone, as calls are consistently unanswered. We received several text messages asking us to confirm the appointment, but none of those messages provided an option to cancel. Since we did not confirm the appointment, we were very surprised to later receive a $50 no-show charge.
We tried calling again and spent more time waiting before finally speaking with the office manager, Tiffany, who was extremely rude and simply told us that the charge would remain on our account.
They may do great in many areas of their practice. However, if it is determined that you or your child needs to be assessed by an OCULAR ONCOLOGIST, this group will refer you to the Bascom Palmer Institute in Miami because that is, per the Dr we saw, “the ONLY ocular oncologist in Florida”. But after I did some thorough private research, I found one in central Florida (named Dr Echegary) that was trained at that same institute. Sounds like this group has a relationship with a certain central FL retina specialist group and so they don’t want to steer business away from them by telling clients about this local eye oncologist and retina specialist. Called here to make an appointment for my daughter as she was referred by her pediatrician. The scheduler that I spoke with on the phone was extremely rude and talked down to me like I was an idiot. Absolutely not. I will be taking my daughter’s medical needs elsewhere.
