We had a great first session with Joaquin. He helped us understand the root of our emotions and how to communicate them effectively using “I feel” and “It sounds like you feel” statements. I learned I need to communicate my needs more and my boyfriend needs to be aware of how his actions send certain messages.

This first session alone helped us heal from our first big fight of our relationship and I’m truly grateful for what Joaquin has opened our eyes to. He does not push for recurring sessions either, he lets us decide whether we need to come back on our own accord.

My fiancé and I went to Joaquin for premarital counseling. Joaquin was able to help us learn how to communicate to each other in a way that was productive and respectful. We both feel that our communication skills and relationship have strengthened due to our sessions. He is a wonderful listener and teacher. I appreciate our time spent learning from him.

About two years ago, I was in a relationship that was presenting various difficulties and communication was poor. As a suggestion by my now ex, I looked for therapists that work with couples and also that speak Spanish. Joaquin is a great therapist and dedicated to what he does. My relationship was not saved since the issues went beyond the capability of any professional. He opened my eyes to many personal issues as I continued to see him after the relationship ended. He was very supportive as many issues arose after the end of the relationship and I take fault into some of them. I highly recommend Joaquin for couples or individual therapy.
