My experience with Coastal Lightning Rods was excellent. I have been considering a lightning protection system for a while, after having a couple of indirect strikes that damaged my equipment.
Their communication was excellent, and their work is very high quality. They were patient, answered all of my questions, and made be feel very comfortable with the process. Having just replaced my roof and adding solar panels, I was initially concerned about the esthetics, and Coastal Lightning did an amazing job of concealing the conductors along the ridge caps, and along the downspouts. The installation of 9 air terminals blends in well with my roof.
As an LPI-certified Master Lightning Protection Installer, I know quality when I see it. My friend Bernard installs lightning protection systems that are thoughtfully designed for both commercial and residential needs. I recently inspected a Coastal Lightning Rods system installed seven years ago — it’s still performing perfectly and is nearly invisible on the home. Excellent workmanship and long-term reliability.

I recently retained Coastal to assess the current condition of our rooftop lightning rod system, now nine years old, and to make repairs and/or improvements as necessary. (Coastal did not do the original installation.). It should be noted that no adhesive lasts forever under the unrelenting Florida sun. Any rooftop adhesive will eventually fail. It should also be noted that last year a routine roof inspection by a reputable roofer found that no less than five of our lightning rod system connectors had come completely loose and separate from the roof as a result of adhesive failure.
