I posted on Ocala's Word of mouth (FB) asking for hair stylist recommendations. I booked with the young lady that was highly recommended. Unfortunately, that didn't end well for me. She fried my hair, gave me the worst cut I've ever had and was completely unprofessional. Being relatively new to the area, I was at a loss. A patient of mine, who had fabulous hair, recommended I see Gary at Hartwell Salon. I scheduled a consultation with him so he could assess the damage and feel him out. I learned he started his career as a barber in the army. After the army, he attended one of the best cosmetology schools in Daytona, Florida. His knowledge and 25 plus years experience doing women's hair blew me away. I obviously made an appointment and so happy I did! He not only fixed my color and cut, he used a product that brought my dead hair back to life! Garys a true hair GOD!!! I found my forever stylist!!! I'm one happy lady!

Ignore the one star review from Diane. Her haircut is adorable and everyone at her property told her so. Gary is a genius and has done my hair since I moved to Ocala 2+ years ago. He turns me a shade of platinum no one has been able to achieve. Yes the salon was hit with Covid. Even those vaccinated were infected. It is truly tragic and disgusting that the non vaccinated Diane / Dee talks about the tragedy the way she does. She tried to scam them out of a free haircut and color and they wouldn't let her. I know. I'm the idiot that gave her Gary's name. Avoid Dee. Go to Gary. He's amazing.

My friend got her hair done and it looked so much better afterwards. Greg - I think is his name was super funny and super down-to-earth and really explain everything that was going on to her.
