Florida Eye Specialist Institute was founded by professor Latif Hamed MD in 1997. The institute offers the latest comprehensive medical, laser, and surgical eye care in a high-tech facility that prioritizes excellence in service and patient experience. They offer cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, cosmetic eyelid surgery, treatment for macular degeneration, and an on-site optical center. All surgery is performed at their state-of-the-art outpatient ambulatory surgery center in Ocala. Dr. Latif Hamed MD is named in Best Doctors in America and America's Best Physicians, and his daughter Dr. Nadine Hamed MD is the recipient of the Resident of the Year Award from UF Shands Hospital 2024. The staff is very friendly, funny, and engaging, and patients never feel rushed or ignored. Both Dr. Latif Hamed and Dr. Nadine Hamed are highly skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate, providing exceptional care to their patients.

Phenomenal professionalism, award-winning courtesy, and memorable bedside manners. As for Dr. Hamed, he’s the GOAT of all things ophthalmology- leading by example with the combination of competence, compassions, brilliance, and it doesn’t hurt that his sense of humor deserves a Netflix special.
