About Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center

Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center provides a supportive environment for its clients, with some staff members standing out for their kindness and professionalism. Zaida, in particular, has been praised for her empathetic and informative approach, making clients feel calm and reassured about their loved ones' care. However, some clients have reported negative experiences with the full-time admin in the outpatient program, citing rudeness, disrespect, and unprofessional behavior over the phone and in person. Despite these issues, the facility has not let clients down, and overall, it strives to provide a warm and sensitive atmosphere for those seeking help.

I do not recommend sending anyone here if you care about them. The psychiatrist/doctor named Dr. Pascal is the WORST. He will lie about when you are leaving and increase your time based on a 5 minute conversation and then put incorrect information in my notes!! I was kept for 8 days without any knowledge as to when i could leave, which was very hard on a teenager such as me with anxiety. Also, in addition to all of this, i was taken off of my serotonin without my or my mom's consent which caused brain zaps, and given antibiotics which caused me terrible nausea for 2 days.

It was awful! They lied to me at administration after I told them I didn’t want to stay. They said I would have to wait 24 hours and have a release signed. They took me upstairs and showed me to my room. The bed was absolutely ridiculous a 3 inch foam mattress and unfitted sheet and a pillow worse than you get from an airline. They told me I would Be with people like myself, suffering from anxiety and depression. Instead, I was with prisoners with shackles on their Ankles. I was terrified from the moment I got there. The staff was very rude and not welcoming or comforting. I I was having a major anxiety attack and nobody would call a doctor to administer meds. I do...read full review

I dont even know where to start. The lady at the lobby area when approached seemed as if she was being disturbed very rude. No one answers the phone when you call to either speak to the nurse or your loved one. And I tried several times on different occasions. Hold times are 20+ minutes if they ever pick up the phone. An adolescent was being d/c very anger cursing at his father not wanting to be released to in. And no staff or security was accompanied. Which l lead to a fist fight in the lobby between the boy and father. Which is a safety issue for everyone around. This facility has neglected to show safe discharge protocol which is very dangerous for everyone around....read full review
