Losing my daddy was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to face, but Lewis Funeral Home in Milton made sure my family never had to walk through it alone. From the day he passed to the moment we picked up his death certificate, they were by our side every step of the way. They handled everything with care, knowledge, and patience—never rushing us, never making us feel like just another family, but truly guiding us through one of the most painful times of our lives. I have to give a special thank you to Mr. Sam and Ms. Amanda because they went above and beyond for us. Mr. Sam’s professionalism stood out the most—he was steady, reassuring, and handled everything with grace. No matter what we needed, he was there, making sure my daddy was taken care of with the utmost respect. Amanda was truly a blessing—in the middle of all the chaos, she was the calm. She had the patience of a saint, talking me through every step and helping me breathe when I felt like I couldn’t. I saw their award for “best funeral home services” the year 2021 as I entered their building, and without a doubt they deserve the award!! Our family is in deep gratitude with Lewis Funeral home, and with Mr. Chase (fourth generation son and owner) who gave us a magnificent caring service. This was the first time the whole family had to go through the experience of setting funeral services, and the hardest part was that our loved one had passed away here in Pensacola, and not in San Diego were he was originally from. Mr. Chase was very kind and professional from the beginning. He was caring, gave his condolences, and never came out as your typical owner/salesman who wants to sell you his service and even make more if possible. On the contrary, he explained to us the prices (which are usually the prices ran for other funeral homes), he told us from the beginning he was not going to try to sell us a cuffing (but told us they had some if we wanted to), and gave us all the time we needed to come to a decision on how to pay, what we needed and what we wanted. He did not pressure us to make a decision, and answered every question with care and compassion for our emotional and economical situation. Another thing to put out was that the body of our loved one was there for almost 3 weeks, and they attempted to fly his body several times but the Only airline that does that service would fail to get the necessary arrangements to do so. In all this time and the four times the funeral home attempted to transport our beloved member, they did not charge us to care for the body, nor the gasoline spent in every trip they did. They kept us in communication of the situation constantly, they kept calling the airline to settle correctly what they needed, and also kept in touch with the funeral home in San Diego. In no time were we bothered to do or pay anything else, Mr. Chase and his funeral home did everything for us and even got the body of our family member on time to be buried at the National Cemetery we had chosen. Ohh!! He also was the one who stayed in touch with the National Cemetery association to secure a gorgeous spot in the cemetery of our choice. Fantastic!! Fantastic service!! They are the number one funeral home in Milton, and I would dare to say even in Pensacola!! We hope you never have to go through the loss a loved family member, but it is the nature of life of course, and if you need to arrange the last details in life of that family member…the Chase Funeral Home is the place and people to go!!
