I visited The Apollo Ballroom for an hour of salsa lessons - as a member of an organization for our monthly social. I wasn't part of the planning process, but it seemed pretty easy to book and secure a time that worked for us and our members (+1s). While we had to pay beforehand as a deposit, we were also allowed to conveniently pay for a few more guests that decided to join last minute. We definitely appreciated this as it avoided the extra hassle of needing definite RSVPs beforehand. Before arriving to the ballroom, I expected somewhat of a dance studio set up (large room, mirror wall).
